Value Engineering
Our view of Value Engineering (VE) in construction is the formal process established to improve the “value” of the construction products by using an examination of plans, specifications and functional requirements to find alternative approaches that produce equal or better performance at a lower cost. The analysis of a product’s or system’s function may lead to the discovery of an alternate material, product or system with equal or improved performance capability at a lower cost. Incorporation of such an alternative, through the Value Engineering Change Proposals (VECP) process, would result in a cost savings to the owner and likely a shared savings for the contractor.
Navigator CS can complete or assist with completing a value engineering analysis as well as the VECP process for either the contractor or the owner.
