Understanding that risk in its various forms – such as safety, schedule and cost – is an inherent and unavoidable element of any construction project and is critical to effective project management.
With that in mind, Navigator CS provides professional project Risk Management services in two ways:
The first is through our normal approach to project management.
Our team of construction professionals know sound project delivery practice, how risk surfaces at nearly every turn and builds risk consideration into every action. For example, extending the work day to possibly make up lost time, may carry with it increased risk of accidents, lower productivity, decreased quality, etc all of which may adversely affect project cost and schedule. We would automatically consider those types of risk factors into such a decision.
The second Risk Management service is a specific focused effort to determine risk exposure and develop mitigation strategies.
Such an effort may include development of a comprehensive risk matrix , which includes risk elements, probability of occurrence, likely impacts, costs and mitigation strategies. Likewise we can employ a more formalized risk assessment by employing Primavera®’s PERTMaster® or a Monte Carlo analysis product. PERTMaster is a full lifecycle risk analytics solution integrating cost and schedule risk management. PERTMaster® provides a comprehensive means of determining confidence levels for project success together with quick and easy techniques for determining contingency and risk response plans. It provides an objective view of required contingency to account for cost and schedule uncertainty as well as analyzing the cost effectiveness of risk response plans.
Regardless of approach, we always strive to identity risk early so that we can effectively mitigate it to increase the likelihood of safe, on-time and on-budget construction.
